To get selected in the Indian Airforce as an Airmen. One will have to appear for the Airforce X and Y group. There are basically three phases of selection that one has to clear to join the Indian Airforce as an Airmen. The Indian Airforce has many vacancies to join the service. One becomes eligible to apply for the Indian Airforce vacancies after passing class 12th. Indian Airforce Airmen Selection Procedure:

After the application form, one will appear for the Written Exam and all students who would clear this will appear for the Physical Fitness Test and then the Medical exam etc. The Selection of the Indian Airforce Airmen is done through the Airforce X and Y Group vacancy. Where the X is for technical and Y is for Non-Technical etc. The Selection will be completely the same for both:

• Written Examination
• Physical Fitness test
• Medical Examination etc

Airforce Airmen Written Examination:

After the application form, One will appear for the Written Exam, Where all the questions would be asked in objective form with multiple choice answers and questions will be asked from the following subjects:

• English
• Mathematics
• Physics
• General Awareness and Reasoning etc

Physical Fitness Test:

There are three rounds of selection in the Physical Fitness Test of Airmen. In this there are basically three rounds that one has to go through:

• Documents Verification Round
• Physical Test
• Adaptability Test I and Adaptability Test II etc

Documents Round:

Documents required to carry for Airforce X and Y Phase II Selection Process:

Physical Test Activities:

Under this round, One will appear for the physical activities. All the activities are simple and one can easily perform it has an average physique and on the basis of the performance, one will be given marks that will be calculated while All India Merit List. All the candidates are advised to carry Sports Shoes and tracksuits. List of activities:

• 1600 meter or 1.6 km of running to be completed in 6.5 minutes.
• 10 push-ups
• 10 sit-ups
• 20 squats etc

Adaptability Test I and Adaptability Test II:

Adaptability Test 1: In this test, one has to appear for the SRT round which stands for Situation Reaction Test. After clearing this round, one will appear for the Adaptability Test 2.

Adaptability Test 2: In this round of selection, One candidate has to appear for the Group Discussion with 10 to 15 students. you have discussed the given topic This round can be tough to clear if not well prepared. As per your performance, you will be given marks.

Airforce Airmen GD & SRT Round:

The GD and SRT Round is very important for the selection, this round is something that can be hard to clear, One will have to prepare very to clear this round. Let’s see the details about the GD and SRT.

SRT: The SRT Stands for Situation Reaction Test. In this, One will be given a situation and you have to share your views on that. Basically, you have to react to the given situation.

GD: The GD Stands for group discussion. In this round, you will be sitting with 10 to 15 people and on the given, you have discussed and shared your views about that particular. The Topic could be anything.

All India Merit List:

This is not an exam, you just have to wait for the All India Rank (AIR) merit list. According to your given test score. There will be an All India Merit list. You have to clear that too also. The Final cutoff marks criteria are depended on the number of available vacancies and the Number of students who have reached the All India list. Only top scorers will be selected.
