Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) is conducted two times in a year named as CDS(I) and CDS(II) by the UPSE which is the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of  Indian Military Academy (IMA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Officers Training Academy (OTA). Selection Process of CDS 2021:

Officers in the Indian Armed forces are selected through the CDS Examination after the graduation. The Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the three phases of selection. One will need to clear the following phases of selection:

• Written Examination conducted by UPSC (www.upsc.gov.in)
• SSB Interview
• Medical Examination etc

After the application form, One will appear for the Written Examination. All the candidate who would clear the Written Examination will proceed with the Interview. You can check your Written Exam result on the official website of UPSC. You can check the list of the selected candidates with the roll number. The mark sheet of the candidates who have not qualified will available on the website within 15days and will be there for 30 days. You can check your scorecard over there.

Now the selected candidates have registered themselves for the SSB interview within two weeks and have to send their original documents in support of age proof, qualification, caste certificate etc to the Headquarters of Air force Academy or Indian Naval Academy or Indian Military Academy. whichever you have chosen as the first priority. If you have given your first choice as ARMY you have to register yourself on the official website of the Indian Army www.joinindianarmy.com  in order to enable them for the call-up information for SSB interview. You can send your original documents by post or you can also go to the Headquarters and submit your documents.

After the Written Exam and SSB Interview, All the selected candidates will appear for the medical Exam at the Military Hospital. Note, It is mandatory to clear each phase of selection individually.

CDS Eligibility Criteria 2021:

See, through CDS examination they recruit the candidate for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Officers Training Academy (OTA) so the educational qualification would be different as per their guidelines. We will discuss each academy’s qualification in detail:-

• You can apply for the CDS examination only after graduation.
• If a candidate is in the final year of his graduation can also apply for this.
• The candidate must have at least 60% marks in his graduation.

Indian Military Academy (IMA):-

• The candidate should have a graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized institute.

Indian Air Force Academy (AFA):-

• The candidate should have passed 10+2 with physics and mathematics and have a degree in engineering/technical from any recognized Institute.

Indian Naval Academy (INA):-

• The candidate should have passed 10+2 with physics and mathematics and having a B.E or B.tech degree from any recognized Institute.

Officers Training Academy (OTA):-

•  For OTA Candidate should have a graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized Institute.
  through the OTA candidate can become an officer in the Indian Army as SSC ( Short Service Commission).

Age Limit for CDS 2021 Examination:

Age criteria for each academy are different so we will discuss one by one below. There is no relaxation has been given to any candidate regarding their Caste, Community, religion etc. The Age Limit Criteria and all other criteria will be the completely same for all.

• IMA:-  For IMA, candidate age must be between 19-24yrs old.
• AFA:– For AFA, the candidate age must be between 19-24yrs old.
• INA:- For INA, the candidate age must be between 19-22yrs old.
• OTA:– For OTA, candidates age must be between 19-27yrs old.
