What is ACC Entry:
This entry is only for the candidate who is already in the Indian Armed forces like the Indian Navy, Indian Airforce or Indian Army and working as a Non-Commissioned Officer. Only then can apply for this entry. While the Indian Military Academy offer the vacancy to the fresh candidates only.
The only person who can apply for this entry is enlisted personnel in any of the services. There are no direct ways to join the Army Cadet College. One must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the forces as a soldier or as any other commissioned post.
Through the ACC Entry, One can only become an officer in the Indian Army only. The training of the cadets is pretty much similar to the NDA (National Defence Academy). Now let’s see the complete selection process and required eligibility criteria which are mandatory to have to apply for this.
Eligibility Criteria for ACC Entry 2021-22:
- A Candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream from any Government Recognized Board.
- Candidate must have at least 2 years of service records in any of the forces at any post.
- Married as well as Unmarried candidates, both are allowed to apply for this.
- Age Limit: The age must be between 20 years old to 27 years old.
- Age Limit criteria will be the same for all. No relaxation will be given to anyone based on Community or Caste etc.

ACC Selection Criteria 2021-22:
The ACC Selection phase is similar to the other defence entries as well. One will need to clear the following phases of selection:
- Written Examination
- SSB Interview
- Medical Examination
The Written Examination is a bit easy as compared to the SSB Interview. The SSB Interview is one of the toughest Interviews in India at the 10+2 level. This Interview is basically five days long and each day you will be tested in a different manner. This may be the toughest phase to clear for you. Always prepare for this in a very better manner. Once a candidate clears the SSB Interview, All the qualified candidates will be sent for the Medical test which is done at the Military Hospitals under the guidance of the military Doctors.
ACC Entry Difficulty level:
The Exam is tough to clear as the competition is tough. In order to clear the selection phase. It is very important to get proper education and training for this. Join the academy and get trained well for this. The main selection is done through the SSB Interview. In order to shortlist the candidates for the SSB Interview, the Written Exam is conducted.

ACC Training Process and Duration:
After the clearing of the Selection Phase, one will be inducted into the Service as an officer cadet. One will get trained at the Army Cadet College for 3 years which is divided into 6 semesters of 6 months each. After the training at the ACC, A candidate will be sent to the Indian Military Academy for 1 year for further training. The total duration of the training is 4 years. They will be posted in the Indian Army on the post of Lieutenant.
During the Training, A candidate will be given some amount as a stipend and the entire expenses of the training will be covered by the ACC (Army Cadet College).
