What is the Engineering Knowledge Test in AFCAT:
The AFCAT Stands for the Air Force Common Admission Test and EKT Stands for the Engineering Knowledge test etc. The recruitment of officers in their following braches like Flying Branch and Ground duty officers(non-technical). And for the Technical Branch candidate will have to give one more exam which is Engneering Knowledge Test (EKT) by this they test your knowledge and eligibility for a technical branch. The candidate will have to clear both AFCAT + EKT in order to join the technical branch.

Exam pattern of EKT-AFCAT:
There are basically two sections in the Engineering Knowledge Test of AFCAT. One has to prepare the general subjects and any of the selected specialized subjects: Check the exam pattern below:

Eligibility Criteria of EKT AFCAT:
Eligibility criteria are completely the same as it is for the AFCAT, the only changes are in Age limit for EKT which I have mentioned below like Age limit for EKT:
- Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
- Candidate must have B.tech/B.E degree with 60% marks.
- Only graduates can apply for this, or appearing in the final semester or year can also apply.
- The candidate should have physics and mathematics in class 12th
- Candidates below the age of 25 must be unmarried before the commencement of the course.
- Age limit for flying branch:- 20 to24yrs years.
- Age limit for technical and ground duty officers:- 20 to 26yrs old.
How to prepare for Engineering Knowledge Test:
There is no special tips or trick to crack this exam, only B.Tech or B.E candidates can apply for EKT, so they already have knowledge and practice about their chosen stream. What If Passed in AFCAT but Failed in EKT Exam?
Well, Clearing AFCAT Exam is mandatory in all manner to be considered for the next phase of selection. In case you passed in AFCAT but got failed in EKT Exam. You have an option to choose the other branches in Admission. But If failed in AFCAT Exam, There is no way, You will have to appear again for the examination.
